Our Rights

Our inalienable rights have been violated; the right to grow our own food and the right to share that food.  Our Forefathers secured the natural right to feed ourselves.

A thing is right when it tends to preserve the integrity,
stability, and beauty of the biotic community.
It is wrong when it tends otherwise.

Religious Rights

Genesis 1: 29-30
Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.  And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.
Leviticus 19: 9-10
“‘When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest.  Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I am the Lord your God.
Colossians 2: 16
Therefore do not let anyone condemn you in matters of food and drink or of observing festivals, new moons, or Sabbaths.

  4. I live in City of Cerritos, CA. As California is facing low water this time. I made walk way last July, and start plant some drought tolerated ground cover, while I working yard project, this female officer from city of Cerritos code enforcement constantly come over check my yard, she also known what I did all the process, she didn't bother to correct me while I was doing my yard, until I finished some area. I actually cover drought tolerated plant all area of my front yard, it just need time for this ground cover to fill the ground. Now she cited me for not have adequate ground cover, she stated that she gave me more than 6 months to fill the ground, that still see some dirt in between the plant, I told her it will grow together as time go by, she couldn't accept. I went to city to discussion my yard project, They treat me like a ball, kick me to development planer, code enforcement back and forth. All they want is to fast filled the ground, they didn't want see dirt. As I did this work all by myself ( I am female) and I can only did a small area day by day. The yard work still in the process this time but the city didn't have patient to wait more time until the ground cover filled, as They keep said I need cover 40% of plant on your yard. The city development planner said in order to fix, that I need remove the concrete which was there even before I purchase this house. Now they set up public hearing on 5/27/14 for violation city code lack of adequate ground cover.
I hope you can listen my story and could give some advice on how can I get help for this kind issue.
